Stirling Council Friends for life

Stirling Friends for Life Project

  • The Stirling FRIENDS FOR LIFE project has enjoyed the support of the Scottish Government since early 2007. Advisers of the Government attend regular steering group meetings. They offer advice and support and regularly promote the programme in the different areas of government, particularly Education, Health and Social Work, and in national forums.
  • Education Minister Adam Ingram has expressed ongoing interest in the project. On 12 September 2008 he visited Stirling, observed a training session in action, had discussions with practitioners and attended a FRIENDS intervention with a whole P6 class in Fallin PS.

  • Members of the Stirling Council Educational Psychology team have presented information on FRIENDS at national conferences, network meetings and regional forums. The project has been highlighted in national (Times Educational Supplement Scotland) and in local media. Please click HERE for a copy of the TES article.
